Police Officers Killed and Worker Kidnapped at Construction Site in Sokoto State

05/17/2018 (Nigeria) - According to local media reports on Thursday, 17 May, three police officers have been killed and one construction worker kidnapped in Lambar Mazaru Village, Bodinga Local Government Area, Sokoto State. The attack is thought to have happened at a Triacta construction site which the officers were guarding. The worker, who is a Syrian national, is believed to still be alive and authorities are anticipating a ransom demand.
Members operating in the area are advised to regularly review their crisis management plans and security measures to ensure they remain commensurate with the local threat environment. In order to reduce the risk of kidnapping, travellers should maintain a low profile; keep travel itineraries discreet; vary travel routines, including routes, timings and vehicles. Any suspicious activity should be immediately reported to security forces.
