Students Forcibly Evicted from University of Khartoum

05/17/2018 (Sudan) - According to local media sources on Thursday, 17 May, local police have stormed a campus building housing the engineering faculty in the University of Khartoum and have forcibly evicted an unconfirmed number of students. Imagery indicates that police are likely to have used tear gas. There have not yet been any reports of injuries. The incident is likely to cause unrest in the immediate future.

Those in Khartoum should avoid the vicinity of the incident due to the possibility of further violence and unrest. Travellers should monitor local media sources for any further information and heed any directives issued by the authorities.
