Multiple Fatalities Reported in Suicide Bombing North of Baghdad

05/17/2018 (Iraq) - A suicide bombing reportedly killed several people in Tarmiya region, 25km (15 miles) to the north of Baghdad. The attack occurred on Wednesday, 16 May when a man blew himself up at a funeral service. It is currently unclear how many people were killed in the attack, for which no group has yet claimed responsibility.

Members in Iraq are advised to exercise a heightened level of vigilance and should immediately report any suspicious activity to security forces. Members should avoid commemorative processions and other religious gatherings due to the risk of militant attacks and exposure to incidental violence. Members are advised to monitor local media sources for further updates on events and security measures in their particular area of operations.
