05/17/2018 (Pakistan) - Pakistani security forces reported on Thursday, 17 May, that a significant target from the Lashkar -e-Jhangvi (LeJ) militant group has been located and killed during an operation in Balochistan. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that the security forces carried out an intelligence-led operation in the Killi Almas area of Balochistan when they came into contact with militants. Two suicide bombers, allegedly of Afghan origin, and the high-value target were killed in the exchange, a further militant was injured and subsequently taken into custody. One member of the security forces was killed and four others injured.

Members in Balochistan are advised to monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any security operations in their area. Due to the high threat of terrorism, members are recommended to maintain a high level of vigilance and immediately report any suspicious items or activity to security forces. Members should minimise non-essential travel in areas with high levels of sectarian violence and time spent in the vicinity of security forces patrols and checkpoints as these are frequently targeted in attacks.
