05/17/2018 (Pakistan) - According to local media reports, at least one person has been killed and several others injured following a suicide attack on a security forces convoy in Nowshera in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (formerly North West Frontier Province) on Thursday, 17 May. The attack took place on Nowshera's Mall Road in the Kachehri Chowk area and was reported to have been carried out by a suicide bomber on a motorbike who targeted a Frontier Corps (FC) vehicle. According to police and intelligence officials, the person killed was the bomber and two Frontier Corps and four civilians were among the injured. The police have cordoned off the area.
Members in Nowshera or the surrounding area are advised to avoid the vicinity of the incident in the immediate term due to the disruption likely to be caused by the cordon and associated traffic congestion. Members are advised to exercise a heightened level of vigilance and to report any suspicious activity or items to security forces immediately.
