02/24/2018 (Peru) - On Friday, 23 February, students gathered at Plaza San Martin in Lima to protest a new law introducing non-remunerated labour for technical students. Police forces have closed in on the protesters, impeding their march towards other areas of the city. In order to contain the students' advance, the security forces have used teargas and baton charges. The clashes are still ongoing.

Clients in Lima are advised to avoid the demonstration due to the associated risks of exposure to opportunistic crime, unruly crowd behaviour, and police crowd control measures. They should monitor local media sources to remain aware of current tensions and for any updates related to planned or ongoing unrest in their area of operations.
