02/23/2018 (Turkey) - According to social media sources on Thursday, 22 February, riot police have arrested 11 leaders of Adana People's House community centre and violently dispersed a protest in Inonu Park in Adana using riot shield charges. The protesters had gathered in the early evening to demonstrate against the detention of 18 People's House directors and activists in a series of early morning raids in Ankara earlier in the day.

Travellers should minimise time spent in the vicinity of all demonstrations and political gatherings due to the risk of exposure to potential crowd disturbances, incidental violence, and police crowd dispersal activities. Monitor local media sources for further protests on the issue and associated disruption, and immediately heed any directives issued by authorities.
