Multi-Vehicular Crash on A-118 Highway in Vsevolozhsky District near St Petersburg; Traffic Disruption Reported

02/23/2018 (Russia) - At least 14 vehicles have been involved in a collision at the 118km marker on the A-118 Highway in Vsevolozhsky District near St Petersburg on the morning of Friday, 23 February. It is indicated that three people have sustained injuries, but overland traffic has been severely impeded. Authorities have advised utilising the Ryabskoye road to avoid delays. Preliminary investigations suggest the accident was caused by slippery conditions, as well as speeding by several of the involved vehicles.

Travellers in St Petersburg and greater Leningrad Oblast should avoid the vicinity of the incident due to ongoing emergency operations. Factor in extra travel time and seek alternative routes where possible to mitigate disrupting to travel itineraries. Motorists are advised to exercise heightened caution when conducting essential movements due to likely hazardous driving conditions.
