Hail and Storm Warnings Issued for Multiple Governorates from 24 February; Hazardous Driving Conditions Likely

02/23/2018 (Oman) - Heavy rains and hailstorms are expected across the governorate of Musandam, as well as North and South al Batinah, Muscat, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, and North and South Al Sharqiyah from Saturday, 24 February. The Directorate General for Meteorology has forecasted a trough of low pressure to bring inclement weather across the sultanate. The agency also said there would be chances of dusty winds over desert and open areas, with possible fog and hazy conditions causing low visibility.
Travellers in Oman are advised to closely monitor weather-related developments through local media. Motorists are further advised to exercise heightened caution due to likely hazardous driving conditions resulting from inclement weather.
