02/23/2018 (Oman) - In a statement on Friday, 23 February, the Royal Oman Police has indicated that it will be implementing new Visa regulations starting from Wednesday, 21 March. Applications for tourist visas, including express visas, can only be made online, and will not be received at the visa service desks upon arrival. Previously, most travellers could obtain a visa on arrival, either at an airport or border post, though the e-visa system launched last year.

Clients intending to travel to Oman are advised familiarise themselves with the new visa regulations and ensure that they carry appropriate and valid travel documentation at all times. Clients are further advised to anticipate delays at points of entry such as ports, border crossings or airports as a result of heightened levels of scrutiny by authorities.
