02/22/2018 (Montenegro) - According to unconfirmed reports on Thursday, 22 February, two grenades have been thrown at the US Embassy in the Krusevac district of Podgorica. Unconfirmed social media reports suggest that one of the attackers was killed by one of the explosions. Media images show security services on-scene and roads blocked in the vicinity. The identity of the attackers is currently unknown.

Those in Podgorica should avoid the vicinity of the incident due to ongoing security operations and road closures. Exercise a heightened level of vigilance and immediately report any suspicious items or activity to security forces. Travellers are advised to monitor local media sources and heed any directives issued by the authorities.
