Multiple Injured after Gas Pipeline Explosion Levels House in Nusrat Bhutto Colony, Karachi

02/22/2018 (Pakistan) - According to local media on Thursday, 22 February, at least seven people have been injured following a gas pipeline explosion in Nusrat Bhutto Colony in Karachi. The people were injured by flames from the fire and falling rubble after the blast levelled a nearby house. Local residents claimed to have reported a gas leak days ago, but no action was taken.

The incident highlights the poor health and safety standards in some private buildings in the country, and the poor state of vital infrastructure. Clients in the vicinity of the incident are advised to exercise a high level of situational awareness as recovery efforts are underway.
