02/21/2018 (United States) - According to national media sources on Tuesday, 20 February, a flood warning has been issued for parts of northwest Indiana as heavy rain approaches the region. Warnings have been issued for the Little Calumet River area at Munster, and much of the Kankakee River in southern Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties. The National Weather Service (NWS) said that heavy showers and thunderstorms were expected throughout Wednesday, 22 February with rainfall totals of up to four inches (10cm) in some areas. A combination of rain, snowmelt and frozen ground could increase the risk of flooding.

Clients should stay abreast of the latest weather-related developments, review contingency measures for possible storm associated disruptions, avoid high-risk areas and heed instructions from authorities. Motorists are advised to exercise heightened caution due to likely hazardous driving conditions resulting from inclement weather as well as debris and damage to roads and highways.
