Dozens Killed after Bus Veers off Pan-American Highway in Arequipa Province; Emergency Operations Ongoing

02/21/2018 (Peru) - According to international media reports on Wednesday, 21 February, at least 30 people have been killed after a bus veered off the Pan-American Highway in Arequipa province and into a gorge. It is indicated the bus fell approximately 80m (260 ft).The cause of the accident, which occurred near the Ocano bridge, is not yet known. Search and salvage operations are ongoing.
