NBA Plans Protest March from Ikeja to Alausa; Avoid Demonstrations

02/20/2018 (Nigeria) - According to local media reports on Tuesday, 20 February, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has planned a mass protest from its branch office in Ikeja to the Lagos State Secretariat in Alausa today. Police officials have reportedly not sanctioned the march, although the leaders of the NBA insist it will go ahead as planned. The demonstrators will reportedly be protesting police brutality.
Clients in Lagos are advised to avoid the vicinity of the protest or any other large political gathering in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and opportunistic crime. Travellers should anticipate traffic disruption in the immediate term and amend their itineraries accordingly.
