02/20/2018 (Nigeria) - According to local media reports from Monday, 19 February, an activist group has planned a protest to take place at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Towers in Abuja at 1100hrs (1000UTC) on Wednesday, 22 February. The group is reportedly protesting fuel scarcity and rising commodities prices. The OurMumuDonDo Movement which is organising the protests has called upon all Nigerians affected by fuel scarcity to join the action.
Clients in Abuja are advised to avoid the vicinity of the protest or any other large political gathering in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and opportunistic crime. Travellers should anticipate traffic disruption in the immediate term and amend their itineraries accordingly.
