02/20/2018 (Philippines) - According to local media sources on Tuesday, 20 February, six suspected members of the Akyat Bahay gang have been arrested during a police operation in Angeles City, Central Luzon. Reports state that operatives of the Angeles City Police Drug Enforcement Unit combined with officers from Angeles City Police conducted a number of anti-drug operations in the city during the past few days during which the suspects were arrested. Police recovered quantities of drugs and drug-related paraphernalia during the operation, as well as money and false documents. Police stated that the gang were suspected of carrying out a series of robberies in the area as well as the drug-related activities.
Those in Angeles City are advised to exercise a heightened level of vigilance and remain clear of any areas known for criminal and gang-related activity.
