02/20/2018 (Brazil) - According to local media reports on Tuesday, 20 February, demonstrators have blocked the Presidente Dutra Highway, one of the main accessways into Sao Paulo. Protesters have set tyres on fire and interrupted vehicular traffic. Sources indicate that demonstrators are protesting the ongoing pension reform undertake by Michel Temer's government.

Those in Sao Paulo are advised to minimise time spent in the vicinity of all demonstrations and political gatherings due to the risk of exposure to potential crowd disturbances and opportunistic crime. Do not attempt to cross any barricades as this may provoke protesters; travellers intending to access or exit Sao Paulo should seek alternative routes. Travellers should monitor local media sources for further updates on the demonstrations and any associated travel disruption in their particular area of operations.
