02/20/2018 (Colombia) - According to local media reports on Tuesday, 20 February, at least three people, including two members of the security forces, have been killed yesterday in a grenade attack in San Vicente del Caguan, Caqueta department. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack at this stage, however, splinter Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) groups are known to operate in the area.

Those in the vicinity of San Vicente del Caguan are advised to remain highly vigilant due to ongoing police operations. Travellers should monitor local media sources for further updates on the incident and possible associated unrest. Those conducting travel outside of major cities in Colombia are advised to subject all journeys to a comprehensive localised threat assessment and liaise with local authorities to identify areas with active guerrilla and security operations.
