Internet and Power Outages in South West Germany following Bank Robbery

02/19/2018 (Germany) - According to local media reports on Monday, 19 February, more than 40,000 households and businesses in southwest Berlin have lost internet access after cable lines were damaged during an attempted bank robbery in the area. There are also reports that some homes are without power. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing and there has been no official announcement as to when services are likely to be resumed.

Personnel in-country are advised that public services and transport links in south west Berlin may be disrupted. Travellers should monitor local media sources for any further information and heed any directives issued by the authorities.
