02/18/2018 (Egypt) - According to local media reports on Sunday, 18 February, Israeli Air Force jets have launched a series of airstrikes within the Gaza Strip on Saturday after four soldiers were wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated along the border with the Palestinian enclave. The explosion, late on Saturday, left two of the Israeli soldiers severely injured. Most of the targets of the strikes are buildings thought to have been used by Hamas as secure compounds. One of the strikes is believed to have destroyed a tunnel used by militants to cross into Israeli territory.

Those in the region are advised to exercise an increased level of situational awareness given a possible escalation of regional tension in the immediate to medium term. Monitor local media sources to remain aware of any related developments, such as security operations and the scheduling of any public drills.
