Reports of Injuries Following Bus Train Collision in Leningrad Oblast

02/17/2018 (Russia) - According to local media sources on Saturday, 17 February, a train collided with a bus carrying foreign tourists between the towns of Zelenogorsk and Komarovo in Leningrad Oblast. Reports indicate that the incident occurred at approximately 1130hrs (0830UTC) when following a malfunction the bus was trapped at a level crossing between barriers. Initial reports state that two people have been injured in the collision. Currently, emergency services are on the scene and are conducting operations. Overground traffic at the level crossing as well as railway services have been disrupted for the immediate time period.

Travellers in St Petersburg and greater Leningrad Oblast should avoid the vicinity of the incident due to ongoing emergency operations. Those wishing to travel overground or utilise railway services near Zelenogorsk and Komarovo should anticipate disruption in the immediate future.
