02/17/2018 (Pakistan) - According to local media reports on Saturday, 17 February, three suspected terrorists have been killed by security forces in Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab Province, during an anti-terror operation. In a statement, the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said that an intelligence-based anti-terror operation was being carried out by units of the Punjab Rangers alongside elite police and intelligence services when they encountered a group of militants in the city who opened fire. During the ensuing firefight, three terrorists were killed and two of the Rangers were injured. The security forces recovered weapons, ammunition and explosive devices from the scene.

There is currently a serious and persistent threat of terrorism across Pakistan. Particularly high-value targets for terrorist groups in Pakistan include security installations, patrols, and vehicles, markets, shopping malls, religious gatherings, diplomatic facilities and mosques. Clients are therefore advised to limit time spent in the vicinity of such locations, subjecting all movement to strict localised threat assessments.
