Man Burned Alive Inside Vehicle during Mob Violence in Limpopo

02/17/2018 (South Africa) - According to local media reports on Saturday, 17 February, a man has been burnt to death in his vehicle following an attack near Ga-Mokgotho village in Limpopo. The victim is thought to have been accused of planning a robbery which led to him being the target of mob violence. Local police have repeatedly condemned vigilante killings which are common place among communities in the area, however no arrests have been made since the incident.

Those in Limpopo province are advised to exercise caution in the affected area in the immediate term due to the ongoing security operations. Due to the persistent risk from criminal activity, travel should be subject to security risk management protocols and undertaken in coordination with a trusted security provider.
