Reports of Fatality Following Factory Explosion Dieppe, Seine-Maritime Department

02/17/2018 (France) - According to local media sources on Saturday, 17 February, an explosion occurred at a vegetable oil factory in the town of Dieppe in the department of Seine-Maritime. Reports indicate that at least one person an employee at the factory has been killed in the incident with another missing. Emergency services are on the scene and are currently conducting rescue efforts as well as attempting to put out the fire which was caused by the initial blast. A 300 metre exclusion zone has been set up around the plant.

Those in Seine-Maritime Department are advised to avoid the vicinity of the incident due to likelihood of further explosions and the ongoing emergency operations. Clients intending to travel overground in Dieppe should anticipate disruption to traffic in the immediate future.
