02/14/2018 (Indonesia) - According to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) on Tuesday, 13 February, Mount Agung in Karangasem Regency on Bali has erupted, shooting ash 1.5km (0.9 miles) into the air. No disruption was reported for air traffic and operations at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) are currently unaffected. The alert level for Mount Agung had recently been reduced from level 4, the highest level of alert, to level 3 due to a decrease in volcanic activity. A 4km (2.5 mile) exclusion zone remains in place around the crater of the volcano.

Those in the area are advised to familiarise themselves with local emergency protocols and heed any directives issued by authorities, including evacuation orders. Clients transiting through the country are advised to closely monitor developments as ash produced by volcanic eruptions can disrupt air travel within the region.
