Several Security Personnel Killed following Militant Ambush in Langovabad Area of Quetta, Balochistan Province

02/14/2018 (Pakistan) - According to emerging reports from local media outlets on Wednesday, 14 February, at least four security personnel were killed after their vehicle was ambushed in Quetta, Balochistan province. The troops were reportedly on a routine patrol of the Langovabad area when masked gunmen opened fire at them on Sariab Road. The assailants fled the scene shortly after and the immediate vicinity has been cordoned off.
Travellers in Quetta are advised to monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any security operations in their area. Due to the high threat from terrorism, clients are recommended to maintain a high level of vigilance and immediately report any suspicious items or activity to security forces. Travellers should minimise non-essential travel in areas with high levels of sectarian violence and time spent in the vicinity of security forces patrols and checkpoints, as these are frequently targeted in attacks.
