02/14/2018 (India) - According to local media outlets on Wednesday, 14 February, at least five people were killed yesterday in an explosion at a dry shipyard in Kochi, Kerala state. Reports indicate that the blast occurred during repair works on a board ship owned by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Investigations are reportedly underway.

The incident highlights the poor security standards in government-owned infrastructure in the country. Clients in the vicinity of the shipyard are advised to exercise a high level of situational awareness as investigations are underway.
