Devil's Wood Yard Mud Volcano Erupts; Emergency Operations Underway

02/14/2018 (Trinidad and Tobago) - According to regional media sources on Wednesday, 14 February, the Devil's Wood Yard mud volcano erupted yesterday for the first time since 1882. An unknown number of people residing nearby the area were evacuated by the emergency services that have been monitoring the volcano since yesterday. Reports indicate that some cracks have been spotted on motorways close to the volcano. Further seismic activity is likely in the following hours.



Those in the area are advised to familiarise themselves with local emergency protocols and heed any directives issued by authorities, including evacuation orders. Clients transiting through the country are advised to monitor developments as seismic activity continues.
