02/13/2018 (India) - According to local media, Chandigarh International Airport (IXC) in Punjab state has been closed until Monday, 26 February, due to a runway expansion and repairs. Flights to IXC are likely to be diverted to Delhi and Amritsar during this period. Punjab state authorities have reportedly requested a greater provision of rail and bus services to Delhi and Amritsar due to a greater anticipated demand during the upgrade.

Travellers flying via IXC are advised to contact their airline prior to departure to clarify the status of their flight. Travellers should anticipate travel disruption in the intermediate to medium term and monitor local media sources for any further information.
