02/13/2018 (Germany) - Media reports indicate that security will be heightened across the city during the Munich Security Conference (MSC) from 16 to 18 February. The conference will be held at Hotel Bayerischer Hof on Promenadeplatz. The organisers have confirmed that numerous high profile figures, including heads of state, will be attending the event. Large demonstrations are anticipated to occur at various locations in the city centre on Saturday, 17 February, including Karlsplatz (Stachus), Marienplatz, and Odeonsplatz.
Travellers should monitor local media reports for updates regarding potential localised travel disruptions due to increased security measures and protests in the lead-up to and during the MSC. Clients are advised to remain clear of any protests, whether planned or spontaneous, due to the risk of exposure to incidental violence and crowd control operations.
