01/17/2018 (Nigeria) - According to international media sources on Wednesday, 17 January, the militant group Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has threatened to launch a series of attacks on deep sea oil installations in the Niger Delta. The group says that in the coming days it will attack targets including Bonga Platform, Agbami Field, EA Field, Britania U-field, Akpo Field, the Egina FPSO and "others littered across the deep waters of the Niger Delta region". The group previously claimed responsibility for a series of attacks in the Delta during 2016, which nearly halved Nigeria's crude oil production.

Those operating in the Niger Delta are advised to continue to employ security measures commensurate with the evolving threat environment. Piracy, criminal activity, and military operations pose a prevalent threat across the Niger Delta. Clients operating in the affected area should be mindful of an increased security presence amid ongoing military operations. Clients are advised to monitor local media sources for any further information and heed any directives issued by the authorities.
