Delhi Flights Cancelled ahead of Republic Day Parada

01/17/2018 (India) - According to international news sources, flights to and from Delhi will be cancelled between Thursday 18 January and Friday 26 January as airspace will be closed for Republic Day air flypast rehearsals. Contrary to previous years, flights will not be rescheduled due to congestion prohibiting alternative slots. It is understood that the airspace will be closed between 1035hrs (0505 UTC) and 1215hrs daily (0645 UTC) affecting up to 15,000 passengers.
Clients flying to airports in the region, including Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), are advised to contact their airline before travelling. Follow local media for updates.
