Nationwide Protests Planned On 17 January

01/17/2018 (Poland) - According to local media sources on Wednesday 17 January, protests will be held in multiple cities across the country. Reports indicate that the protests are spurned on by recent legislation regarding abortion which is currently being reviewed. In Warsaw the protest is scheduled to occur at 1730 local time (1630 UTC) on Ulica Wiejska opposite the country's parliament. In other cities including Krakow, Gdansk and Bialystok the action will happen outside town halls or buildings housing the judiciary around late afternoon.

Clients in country are advised to avoid the vicinity of the protests or any other large political gatherings in order to lessen the chances of being affected by incidental violence and opportunistic crime. Travellers should monitor local media sources for any further information an heed any directives issued by the authorities.
