01/15/2018 (Fiji Islands) - According to regional media outlets on Monday, 15 January, at least 3000 people participated in a march in central Nadi to show solidarity with aviation workers over the weekend. Approximately 200 aviation ground staff have reportedly been locked out by the company Air Terminal Services since early December, who accuse ground staff of organising an illegal strike action. Fiji Trades Union Congress is reportedly threatening a nationwide strike action, unless the dispute is ameliorated, which could affect airport operations in Nadi and Suva.

Clients intending to travel to Fiji are advised to monitor for strike-related updates through local media outlets. It is further advised to contact their flight providers ahead of departure in order to clarify the status of their journeys.
