Unionised Street Vendors to Demonstrate in Puebla, 16 January; Localised Travel Disruption is Expected.

01/15/2018 (Mexico) - According to local media sources on Sunday, 14 January, the communist union, Union Popular de Vendedores y Ambulantes (UPVA) "28 de Octubre", have called for demonstrations in Puebla on Tuesday, 16 January. The protests will start in the vicinity of the Mercado Hidalgo area and then progress towards Casa Aguayo. Reports indicate that the demonstrations will start at 1130hrs (1730 UTC). Localised travel disruption is expected in the vicinity of the aforementioned area.

Those in Puebla should exercise a heightened level of caution if travelling in the aforementioned area on the aforementioned date. Those with operations in the region are advised to monitor local media sources for further updates on the local security situation and any associated protests.
