01/14/2018 (Venezuela) - According to incoming local media on Sunday, 14 January, looting and unrest have broken out in the southeastern Guyana City, Bolivar state. Looting has been an ongoing issue within major cities across Venezuela, due to significant food shortages. Further information is currently awaited.

Clients in the aforementioned areas are advised to limit time spent in the vicinity of any political demonstrations and public gatherings due to potential exposure to incidental violence and crowd control measures. Public demonstrations in Venezuela frequently erupt into violence and usually result in a heavy-handed police response. Monitor local media sources for information regarding the events and resultant travel disruption.
