01/13/2018 (Venezuela) - According to local media reports, a large protest is scheduled to be held by civil society organisations on Monday, 15 January, in Caracas. The National Independent Movement of Social Alliance (MINAS) has called for activists to gather at Los Cortijos Metro station at 0900hrs (1300 UTC), before proceeding towards the La Polar headquarters. MINAS are reportedly calling for Lorenzo Mendoza to run for the presidency in 2018.

Clients in Caracas are advised to avoid the vicinity of all demonstrations and political gatherings due to the risk of exposure to potential crowd disturbances, incidental violence, and heavy-handed police crowd dispersal activities. Travellers should be mindful of the increased security measures and immediately heed any directives issued by authorities. Monitor local media sources for further updates on the protests and associated disruption.
