Criminal Group Targets LGBT Union Patriotica Members in Costa Caribe region

10/17/2017 (Colombia) - According to local media sources on Tuesday, 17 October, multiple LGBT activists and members of the Union Patriotica (UP) left-wing party have been targeted in the Costa Caribe region by the criminal group known as Self-Defence Gaitanista Groups of Colombia, a former far-right paramilitary group. The criminal group has been spreading written messages stating their intentions and will reward anybody collaborating with the killing of the LGBT activists.
Those in the aforementioned region are advised to report any type of suspicious activity to the security forces and exercise a heightened level of situational awareness. Clients should closely monitor local sources in order to keep apprised of the latest developments on this incident.
