Security Forces Thwart Bomb Attack at a Beer Festival in Kuala Lumpur

10/17/2017 (Malaysia) - According to international media sources on Tuesday, 17 October, at least three people were arrested on terrorism charges as they were allegedly planning to attack multiple targets including an annual beer festival in Kuala Lumpur. Enough explosive material to fabricate at least three improvised explosive devices have been seized in the security operations that led to the arrest of these three individuals. The annual beer festival was reportedly canceled upon complaints from influential Muslim groups in the city.

Clients should travel with caution in Kuala Lumpur and report any suspicious items or activity to authorities. Personnel should minimise time spent in the vicinity of security popular tourist attractions, religious sites, and transportation hubs, as these are occasionally targeted in attacks.
