Landslides Kill Two in Santa Cruz de Cajamarquilla, Huachipa, Lima Province

10/17/2017 (Peru) - According to local media sources on Tuesday, 17 October, at least two people were killed in landslides after heavy rains recently affected the vicinity of the area of Santa Cruz de Cajamarquilla in Huachipa. Local residents have called the government to action an evacuation plan in the area amidst fears of further landslides.

Those in the aforementioned area should be aware of the risk of flash flooding and landslides and are advised to monitor local media sources for weather-related updates. Travellers in rural areas should review contingency and business continuity plans in light of the possible overland travel disruption and damage to local infrastructure.
