10/17/2017 (Mexico) - According to local media reports on Tuesday, 17 October, thousands of unemployed oil sector workers blocked the Narciso Saenz street following large-scale job openings in a local oil company as the National Employment Service offices are located in this area of Villahermosa. The oil industry in the region has been severely affected by the oil price plunge and the latest government policies involving sector-deregulating measures. Congestion in the aforementioned area is likely in the days ahead.

Those in the aforementioned areas are advised to monitor local media sources to remain apprised of security incidents and mass gatherings in their particular area of operations. Travellers should avoid all demonstrations and large gatherings due to the risk of exposure to potential crowd disturbances and incidental violence as well as police crowd control operations. Transport disruption, possibly including road closures or diversions, can also be anticipated in the vicinity of large agglomerations of people.
