Curfew Announced during National Census on 22 October

10/17/2017 (Peru) - According to the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), a curfew has been announced to take place during a national census on Sunday, 22 October. The curfew will be in effect from 0800hrs (1300 UTC) until 1700hrs (2200 UTC). Hotels and restaurants will reportedly function as normal. If you arrive in the country after 0800hrs (1300 UTC) on Sunday, you must collect and carry a registration card with you.

Clients in Peru on the aforementioned date are advised to familiarise themselves with the terms of the curfew. Whilst the census is likely to be carried out peacefully, travellers should be aware of potential crowd disturbances. Monitor local sources and official announcements for further information.
