Large-Scale Evacuations after PEMEX Gas Duct Leak in Cardenas, Tabasco

10/16/2017 (Mexico) - According to local media sources on Monday, 16 October, over 1,000 have been evacuated in and around Santa Teresa Arroyo Hondo municipality in Cardenas, Tabasco. Evacuations follow a security incident on PEMEX infrastructure after oil-smugglers reportedly tried to tap into a gas duct. It is indicated that PEMEX personnel are currently carrying out emergency operations due to the high risk of explosion in the area.

Those near Cardenas, Tabasco should remain well clear of the vicinity of the aforementioned area and comply with directives issued by the emergency services deployed. Closely monitor local media sources for further updates on this incident.
