10/16/2017 (United Kingdom) - According to reports from local media, several unions including the Public and Commercial Services Union intend to stage a protest in Parliament square, central London on Tuesday, 17 October. The protest is over an ongoing dispute regarding the non-inflation linked pay progression, since 2010. Further sources indicate this is part of a larger attempt by the opposition Labour Party to highlight cabinet level disagreements over the pay restraint. The protest though expected to garner a high attendance is expected to be peaceful.

Those within the country are advised to avoid the vicinity of demonstrations in order to mitigate against exposure to unruly crowd behaviour, opportunistic crime and heavy-handed police response. Clients are further advised to anticipate localised travel disruption resulting from crowd control measures by police. Keep apprised of further incidents by monitoring local sources.
