10/14/2017 (Bangladesh) - According to reports from local media sources on Saturday, 14 October, protest activity is expected in major urban centres across the country following the issuing of an arrest warrant for the chairperson of the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). BNP supporters are expected to stage rallies and marches in various areas, particularly BNP strongholds, and Dhaka.

Those in Bangladesh should monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any further demonstrations connected with the issue. Travellers are advised to minimise time spent in the vicinity of all demonstrations and political gatherings in Bangladesh due to the risk of exposure to potential crowd disturbances and incidental violence.
