10/13/2017 (Portugal) - The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) issued updated travel advice on Friday, 13 October, has warned travellers of the possibility of poor weather conditions due to Hurricane Ophelia. The hurricane is forecast to bring hazardous sea and weather conditions to Sao Miguel and Santa Maria.

Travellers should anticipate significant weather-related disruption in the area in the immediate to medium term and should factor this into itineraries, allowing additional time and planning alternative routes where possible. Clients travelling via local airports are advised to contact their provider prior to travel in order to ascertain the status of their flights.
