10/12/2017 (United States) - According to social media reports on Wednesday, 11 October, activists have gathered in Charlottesville, Virginia, to protest against racism. The demonstrators have gathered at the Pavilion and are reportedly marching towards Emancipation Park. The demonstrations are reportedly being held in response to a campaign by 'Unite the Right' to revert Emancipation Park back to its original name, Lee Park.

Clients in Charlottesville are advised to monitor local media sources to remain apprised of any planned demonstrations in their particular area of operations. Travellers should minimise time spent in the vicinity of all demonstrations and political gatherings due to the risk of potential crowd disturbances and incidental violence.
