Multiple Typhoid Cases Reported on Moturiki Island

10/12/2017 (Fiji Islands) - According to national media sources on Wednesday, 11 October, multiple people have now been hospitalised with confirmed Typhoid fever on Moturiki Island. Clients travelling to the region are advised to contact their health provider and discuss vaccination options. Symptoms include a high temperature, stomach pain, headache and constipation/diarrhoea.
Travellers who exhibit any of the aforementioned symptoms whilst on Moturiki Island should seek medical attention at the earliest available opportunity. Although the disease is treatable early diagnosis is imperative.
