10/11/2017 (Guatemala) - According to local media reports, members of the Committee of Rural Development (CODECA) intend to march in central Guatemala City on Saturday, 14 October. The march is reported to be over an ongoing attempt to pressure the incumbent president to resign over accusations of corruption. Further information is awaited.

Those in Guatemala are advised to monitor local media sources for further updates including any political gatherings in their area of operations. Travellers should minimise time spent in the vicinity of all demonstrations and political gatherings due to the risk of exposure to potential crowd disturbances, opportunistic crime and incidental violence, as well as police crowd control and dispersal tactics.
